Good Evening Alcoa Swim & Dive Families,

First things first- we are SO GRATEFUL for our swimmers and parents!

You have ALL been so flexible this season and as coaches we cannot thank our parents enough for how much support they give both our swimmers/divers and us. One of our main goals in creating this team was to foster an environment where our athletes could feel like a team and that they are part of something bigger than just themselves. That has really shined through this week and a lot of that has to do with our parents buying into the same philosophy. So THANK YOU!

With that being said, and while it is not official until after the HS Diving session, we do believe that there is a very good chance our little team will come out on top and WIN the 2026 KISL HS Regional Championship for our Division. This is a HUGE accomplishment, and we would like as much of our team as possible to join us to watch Edwin dive and to receive our trophy on Wednesday, January 28th at Allan Jones Aquatic Center. The Diving Session begins at 6:30 and will last about 1.5 hours, after which scores will be finalized. You will see this invitation on our calendar in the Heja app. Please let us know if anyone would like a ride.

As for the rest of this week, we are still awaiting confirmation of information for our Middle School Championships. We will try to continue practice, pending weather and pool conditions, until that meet takes place. It is currently tentatively scheduled for the afternoon/evening of January 31st.

Here is what you need to know for this upcoming week:

• Monday- NO PRACTICE due to School Cancellation/Weather Conditions
• Tuesday- Regular Practice 7-8pm pending School Cancellations/Weather Conditions
• Wednesday- KISL HS Diving Session/Awards at Allan Jones Aquatic Center 6:30-8PM*
• Thursday- Regular Practice 7-8pm
• Friday- Either Regular Practice 7-8pm or Team Dinner redo at the Davis’s pending schedule for Saturday MS Meet…more information TBD as soon as we get word from KISL.
• Saturday- MS Session of the 2026 KISL Championships, details TBD.

*The KISL Last Chance Meet will also be held this same night at Carson Newman. Coach Hana will attend with any swimmer who is within the range required to participate at this meet. More details TBD.

We would like to congratulate Edwin Odom and Emerson Hill, who are definitely our ACE Award winners for the past week! Thank you Edwin for jumping in to swim and complete our men’s relays- what a team player! Big Kudos to Emerson for being the biggest cheerleader and motivational hype-girl for everyone on deck Friday night. You guys rock! An honorable mention goes to Mike at Subs N’ Such for feeding our athletes on Friday night. They were amazing-please make sure to stop by and grab a sandwich and tell them thank you if you get the chance.

Big Congratulations to our HS Swimmers who qualified for the 2026 TISCA State Championships this season! The following athletes will represent both Clayton-Bradley Academy and Alcoa High School at the State Championships on Feb 6/7th in Nashville. This meet will be live streamed via www.swimnac.com
