Alcoa Swim & Dive- Week 6 Update

Good Evening Alcoa Swim & Dive Family,

It's another Meet week! Make sure to get to practices as we gear up to take on Lenoir City MS/HS on Saturday. Details about the meet will be posted on our Meets page on the website HERE as we receive them. It will be especially important to RSVP for practices this week as Coach Selena is out of town. Deadline to RSVP for our Meet will be Wednesday, so if you have not done so already, please declare. Here are important things to know:

  • For Meet: Arrive at Lenoir City Claire Donahue Aquatic Center (120 Panther Drive) by 8AM. Warmups will begin at 8:30. Worker's Meeting at 8:45. Meet will begin at 9AM. Parents should bring chairs to sit in as there is limited bleacher space. More information to come. We still have several open volunteer positions open and several athletes who have yet to declare, so please sign up through our website by Wednesday!
  • Team Suits Team suits arrived Thursday. Coach Hana has suits and will distribute to you at practice if you ordered and have not already picked up.
  • Thanksgiving Practice Schedule- Please note that we will have early practice on Wednesday and Friday of Thanksgiving Week. We will not have practice on Thanksgiving.
  • Weather Alerts There are some projected rain and storms in the evenings this week. Please know that our facility policy is that we can be in the water unless there is lightning.  Any delays or cancellations of practice, while not expected, will be communicated via Swimtopia & Heja apps if we are affected by weather.
  • We have been assured by KISL that we will receive information about the Ray Bussard Invitational on December 13th this week. This is a very important meet that we expect all of our swimmers/divers to attend. Make sure this is on your calendar and be on the lookout for more details soon.
  • It was brought to our attention that we skipped our ACE Award Winner last week, which was perfect timing because we would like to celebrate Patrick Collins and Parker Kivett together this time! Patrick and Parker are consistent in giving 100% at practice, keeping a positive attitude, and uplifting teammates with their great energy. They have both improved so much through their consistency and have been an amazing addition to our team. Congratulations on being our ACE Award recipients for the past two weeks!

As always, if you have any questions please reach out!

See you at the pool,

Coach Hana and Coach Selena
