KISL 2025 Regional Championship Recap
Hi Team!
What a season! We wanted to share some highlights from the KISL Regional Championships:
In prelims, 100% of our relays dropped time and 91% of our individual swims were best times. We could not be more proud of our swimmers and how hard they worked this season! The prelims session really showed that putting in consistent and efficient practice pays off!
We had 5 program records broken:
Men's 200 Free Relay- Kaden Newman, Braden Gibson, Nathaniel Dutton, Ethan Scruggs
Men's 200 and 500 Free- Ethan Scruggs
Women's 100 Butterfly- Miller Rothenberg
Mens 11-dive 1m Springboard Diving- Edwin Odom
Additional State Cuts were made by Carson Coker in the 50 Free and Ethan Scruggs in the 200 Free.
We had 6 A Final Swims, including 2 overall top-3 finishers: Edwin Odom for Diving and Miller Rothenberg in the 100 Breaststroke. Tori Goff was our overall top scorer with a 4th place finish in her 2IM and a 6th in her 500 free. Our girls' relays of Margaret Murray, Miller Rothenerg, Tori Goff and Carson Coker both dropped major time in finals and came out with a 6th place in the Medley and a 5th place in the 400 Free.
We had 8 B Final swims, all contributing to our overall score of 143 points.
The swimmers that came back for the finals session were:
Carson Coker
Nathaniel Dutton
Braden Gibson
Tori Goff
Georgia Kate Moye
Margaret Murray
Kaden Newman
Miller Rothenberg
Ethan Scruggs
These point scorers put us in 3rd place for Division 2 behind Webb School and Oak Ridge High School. We were the only team in Blount County to podium in any division!
For a first year I would say this meet was a huge accomplishment and proof that Swimming & Diving is a sustainable, winning program for Alcoa. Thank you to all our athletes, parents, and supporters for making this season a huge success!
